Dublin Central Mission

DCM Sheltered Housing is one of the services for the older person provided by Dublin Central Mission. Founded in 1893, DCM is a part of the Methodist Church in Ireland, committed to expressing the Christian faith in a practical manner in the Dublin area. More information on DCM is at www.dcmiss.ie
A second key component of DCM's services to the older person is the Mount Tabor Nursing Home and Care Centre.

DCM provides independent living facilities in its two sheltered housing complexes at  Margaretholme and Ailt an Óir.
Residents of both complexes enjoy the benefits of

  • All necessary repairs, as well as heating and maintenance of the self-contained apartments is provided
Applications are accepted from women, men and married couples, although it should be noted that waiting lists may exist from time to time. All residents pay a rent set appropriate to their means and both complexes are supported by appropriate statutory benefits and through charitable contributions from Mission friends and supporters.
Margaretholme
CLAREMONT ROAD, SANDYMOUNT, DUBLIN 4 - OPENED 1965


Margaretholme
provides single/double accomodation for about 40 residents. The complex is on a level site, with mature grounds, close to bus and DART services. Sandymount Village, with its shops, pharmacies, doctors, bank and post office and other essential services, is only a few minutes walk away. Several churches, as well as the promenade at the sea front are also within easy walking distance.


Ailt an Óir

Ailt an Óir is a modern complex, with accommodation for around 48 residents.Recreational facilities, including indoor bowls, table tennis and croquet on the lawn, are available. There are extensive mature grounds, and it is close to DART and bus services. A shopping centre is within walking distance, and a small shop within the building also provides some regular basic necessities. There are covered walkways to all parts of the complex, but each appartment also has its own external door.
