Mount Tabor was opened in March 1998 and is located centrally overlooking Sandymount Green in Dublin.

It offers general nursing care to thirty people, while a futher fifteen residents suffering from Dementia receive Special Nursing Care in an attractive purpose built unit, including an outdoor sensory garden where residents can stroll in the privacy and safety offered.
All bedrooms (single and shared) are tastefully decorated and fully furnished, each with television, phone, nurse call system and en suite facilities. Also two rooms with either 3 or 4 beds are provided for those who need close observation.
Other Accommodation includes a TV lounge, as well as Reading, Music & Smoking rooms, a library room, a large cheerful Dining Room, and a Chapel
Handrails are provided in the corridors for safety and the centre is totally wheelchair accessable. Visiting hours are open except for meal times and there is adequate space provided for car parking. Pets are not allowed.
Staff Care: Ensuring each person's dignity, security and comfort is maintained, as well as addressing spiritual needs, are important aspects of the holistic approach to care. Residents may retain the services of their own GP if preferred, but a local doctor will also be on call. 24 hour care is provided by trained staff, and there is a full time Registered Nurse on duty at all times. Services include: delivery of daily newspapers; diversional therapy; chiropody; hairdressing. The on-site laundry service is included in the tariff as are incontinence sheets and pads.
Catering : A menu of home cooked nutritional meals are available and special needs and diets are catered for. Breakfast is served in bed - all other meals served in the dining room. Drinks and Snacks are available throughout the day at visitor/resident tea stations.
Location/Recreation Mount Tabor is within walking distance of Sand
ymount village
which affords amenities such as shops, Bus and Dart services, Banks and
Post Office. Roman Catholic, Church of Ireland and
Methodist/Presbyterian Churches are all within easy reach. Both
denominational and interdenominational services are held in Mount
Tabor's own oratory. Volunteers are engaged to help with various indoor
activities and birthdays are observed with a celebration. Residents can
enjoy a stroll in the attractive landscaped garden, and relax in the
summer months in the patio areas which surround the Center.
